Formula Renault Eurocup race winner Alex Peroni will graduate to FIA F3 in 2019, joining Campos after testing with the Spanish squad at the end of ’18.

The 19-year-old joins Sebastian Fernandez in its line-up after two full seasons in Eurocup, winning on one occasion with both Fortec Motorsports and MP Motorsport in ’17 and ’18.

Peroni later competed in GP3 post-season testing, completing 136 laps over three days of running, with a best position of ninth overall on day two.

“Alex is a driver who last season showed some impressive performances despite his young age,” team president Adrian Campos said.

“Therefore, we believe that he has great prospects and, with the right preparation from Campos Racing, he will reach his full potential.

“Internally, we were very pleasantly surprised in the post-season tests in Abu Dhabi, getting a quick adaptation and achieving rather competitive lap times.”

“I was made to feel immediately comfortable with the Campos team in Abu Dhabi,” Peroni added.

“The team did everything they could to help me and good lap times came very quickly. I was very impressed with how hard they worked and from that moment I wanted an opportunity to work with the Campos team throughout the F3 championship.”

Peroni is the 10th driver to be announced for the 30-driver grid, with one space left to be filled at Campos.
