Correa to start Abu Dhabi feature from pitlane

Jenzer’s Juan Manuel Correa is set to start the final GP3 feature race of 2017 from the pitlane after a penalty following qualifying in Abu Dhabi.

Correa qualified 19th in the session, 1.846s adrift of the fastest time, but was deemed to have impeded Trident’s Kevin Joerg.

He was given a three-place penalty after this, and because he cannot serve the full amount of it with 20 cars in the field, must start from the pitlane.

This promotes Julien Falchero to 19th on the grid, with the Frenchman starting behind DAMS’ Bruno Baptista and Campos team-mate Marcos Siebert.

Joerg ended the session in 14th place and should begin the event alongside Tatiana Calderon on the seventh row.

Champion George Russell claimed his fourth pole position of the season and is scheduled to line up alongside Leonardo Pulcini at the front.
