Albon storms to maiden GP3 victory in Spain

ART Grand Prix driver Alexander Albon seized the lead on the run down to the first corner and lead every lap to take his maiden GP3 victory in the second and final race of the weekend in Spain.

Oscar Tunjo started race two from pole position after finishing eighth in yesterday’s race one, but Albon made the better start and took the lead of the race.

Tunjo pressured him throughout the race and took the fastest lap of the race, however, he was unable to make the move and was forced to settle for second place, +1.294 behind the victor.

Antonio Fuoco started the race in fifth but found himself third after he got the jump on Jake Dennis and Kevin Jorg off the line.

Jake Dennis showed decent race pace and drove a comfortable race to fourth place ahead of Nyck de Vries who finished fifth, despite starting ninth.

Matt Parry fought a little too hard as he made three changes of direction while defending from Ferrucci and earned a ten-second penalty for his actions.
