Koiranen GP’s Matt Parry was fastest on the second and final day of testing in Valencia ahead of the 2016 GP3 season.
The day of testing started under rain clouds, but the rain soon passed and the 24 drivers of 2016 pushed their new generation cars even further than yesterday. Thursday’s benchmark was quickly beaten once the track had fully dried out.
Parry’s time in the morning session of a 1:21.476 left him fastest overall just under a tenth behind Honda junior Fukuzumi and the newest member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, reigning European Formula Three champion Charles Leclerc.

Fellow ex-Euro F3 driver Alexander Albon was fourth quickest ahead of yesterday’s pacesetter Artur Janosz and teammate Nyck De Vries.
Oscar Tunjo found himself seventh quickest ahead of his teammate Antonio Fuoco. Campos Racing returnee Alex Palou and DAMS driver Jake Hughes rounded out today’s top 10.
GP3 debutants DAMS have yet to show front-running pace with Ferrucci 14th and Jörg 16th today, and big improvements are needed if DAMS want to maintain the level of success they have shown in other racing categories.

Elsewhere, Ralph Boschung who ended the day 17th quickest brought out a red flag in the morning session after his Koiranen GP grounded to a halt on the start line.
The GP3 field now heads to Barcelona for the final two days of testing ahead of the 2016 season (April 20-21).
The first race of the 2016 GP3 season kicks off in Barcelona on May 14.
