Romano Fenati leaves it late to take Moto3 pole

Romano Fenati left it late, but was able to take pole for tomorrow’s Moto3 race at Silverstone.

The Italian waited until the final seconds of the session to put his pole lap in, meaning he will head the grid for the race tomorrow.

Fenati wasn’t the only rider to wait to put their time in. Joan Mir thought he had taken pole position before Fenati beat him to the post. Mir will line up alongside Fenati on the front row in second place, alongside Gabriel Rodrigo in third.

John McPhee struggled in the early stages of the session but was able to put a good final lap in to put him fourth for the race. Nicolo Antonelli will join the Scot on the second row, alongside Andrea Migno.

Bo Bendsneyder and Nicolo Bulega both led for stages of the session. However, the pair will start the race tomorrow from seventh and eighth respectively. Jorge Martin will start from ninth place.

Juanfran Guevara will start from tenth, with Kaito Toba starting eleventh.

The Moto3 race gets underway at 12:40 BST tomorrow.
