Bulega Donington Streak Turns WorldSBK UK Round Into Ducati Title Shot

Nicolo Bulega’s perfect WorldSBK season now has a Donington-sized complication.

The Prosecco DOC UK Round brings the 2026 championship to the circuit where WorldSBK began in 1988, with Bulega arriving on a staggering unbeaten run for Aruba.it Racing Ducati. WorldSBK’s official preview says the Italian has won 21 races from 21 this season, extending a wider streak to 25 straight victories.

That form makes Donington more than another domestic showcase. Ducati can wrap up the manufacturers’ and teams’ championships on Sunday, turning a July British round into a potential coronation weekend for the Bologna marque.

Why Donington Still Looks Dangerous

The catch is the venue. Ducati’s recent Donington record is modest by its 2026 standards, with WorldSBK noting only three wins there since 2011. That gives Alex Lowes and Sam Lowes genuine home-round relevance, while Jonathan Rea’s Honda wildcard adds another British storyline around a circuit he knows intimately.

Iker Lecuona’s role also matters. If Bulega controls the front, Lecuona can still help Ducati finish the title work, but the UK round is loaded with riders who see this as the rare place where Ducati might finally be forced onto the back foot.

Bulega’s own profile underlines why this has become so stark. WorldSBK lists him with 15 wins from 15 Superbike races in 2026, after runner-up finishes in both 2024 and 2025. The question at Donington is no longer whether he is championship material. It is whether anyone can interrupt the rhythm before Ducati’s title maths is done.
