Charles Leclerc once said that he and Carlos Sainz came together as a package when they were Ferrari teammates, and it seems like the universe is listening.

This is because Leclerc has now joined Sainz as the global brand ambassador of L’Oréal Paris. He’ll be leading the Men Expert and hair care ranges for the brand. Sainz joined the brand last year. He also commented on the brand’s post recently, welcoming Leclerc to the family.

Leclerc revealed his personal connection with the brand, noting that he associates it with his mother, who is a hairdresser. So, growing up, Leclerc witnessed the brand’s product all around the house and came across their commercials on TV. He recently also expressed his gratefulness for having the opportunity to be the face of a brand that empowers women. He further reflected that, in his view, a man’s real strength comes from supporting and collaborating alongside women in this very empowering mission.

Laetitia Toupet, L’Oréal Paris Global President, released a statement welcoming the Monegasque driver to the family. She said, “His permanent quest of excellence, his determination and resilience, coupled with his sensitivity, his curiosity, his groundedness, and his empathy are a great example and inspiration. And that is exactly the kind of role model the world needs today. Charles not only represents a hugely aspirational figure, but he also embodies our belief that women’s empowerment is not a women-only fight. It becomes real when men and women stand strong together.”

Charlos: a bromance everyone loved

Sainz replaced Sebastian Vettel in 2021 and became a partner to Leclerc. Their close friendship, healthy rivalry, and humorous banter were loved throughout the fandom. However, their bromance came to an end last year, when Lewis Hamilton replaced Sainz, who then joined Williams.

During a conversation on the Beyond the Grid podcast, Sainz revealed that he understood Ferrari’s logic in replacing him with a seven-time world champion and said it would have been difficult to comprehend if it had been someone else.

He was also very well aware that Leclerc would never be the one to exit the team, as he is the centre of the project for Ferrari and has been there with them since his junior years. While he acknowledged that he was “hurt” by the decision and wasn’t prepared to hear such news, he eventually came to terms with it.

On the Ferrari app, Leclerc also reflected on the bond with his teammate and praised his talent and kind personality.

He said, “Straight from the beginning, we had a natural bond that was created straight away. He’s a super nice guy, super easy to get on with. Straight away, we understood that we had a lot of interests in common outside of racing, and that helped us to initiate the discussion, speaking about other things. I’ve always said that port brings people together, and now I can call him a friend outside of racing. He’s a really good person.”

Although they have been separated by the Italian team, they continue to be good friends off-track.
