Over the winter the Leopard Team announced the switch from Honda to KTM; riders Andrea Locatelli, Joan Mir, and Fabio Quartararo will be racing on the KTM RC 250 in Moto3.

Spain’s Joan Mir is thought to be one to watch, he is stepping up from the Moto Junior World Championship which has also produced other riders like his now current teammate Frenchman Quartararo. Italian Locatelli will be competing in Moto3 for the third time this year.

Team manager Miodrag Kotur, said: “After the triumphs in Rally, Endurance and in Formula 1, I felt the need of a new stimulus. A year ago, Flavio asked me to follow him in this adventure. We looked into this world, and without claiming, but with great professionalism we eventually finished with the world title at the last race. This year will be more difficult as we will have eyes focused on us, because we are the team to beat.

“In addition, we will provide a double challenge on two front with Moto3, with the move from Honda to KTM, and for the first time in the intermediate class of Moto2. With experienced people in motorsport like Christian Lundberg and Stefan Kiefer we’ll try our best to get the best results in 2016, knowing it will be a tough season.”
