Oliveria pips Marini to Brno Moto2 win

Miguel Oliveria took the win at Brno, just beating out Italian Luca Marini to take the Championship lead.

The Portugese rider overtook Francesco Bagnaia in the standings to lead the World Championship going into Austria, with Bagnaia only managing a third placed finish.

The Italian’s teammate Luca Marini was second, just losing out to Oliveira at the line.

Fourth place went to Lorenzo Baldasarri, who battled with Bagnaia until the end. Xavi Vierge was fifth, with Brad Binder crossing the line sixth.

Marcel Schrotter was seventh, with Jorge Navarro eighth. Sam Lowes recovered from a poor qualifying to finish ninth whilst Mattia Pasini was tenth.

Alex Marquez’s championship changes look over, after the Spaniard crashed out of the race whilst in third.

The Moto2 riders will return next week for the Austrian GP from the Red Bull Ring.
