Pedro Clerot claims maiden Formula 3 victory as Campos secure Madrid title

Pedro Clerot secured his maiden Formula 3 victory with a dominant lights-to-flag performance during the Madrid Feature Race 1 for Rodin Motorsport.

Clerot snatched the lead from second on the grid immediately off the line. He managed his pace flawlessly across the entire race distance to keep ART Grand Prix driver Taito Kato behind. MP Motorsport’s Tuukka Taponen completed the podium places.

Campos Secure Teams Championship

While Clerot controlled proceedings at the front of the pack, paddock attention quickly turned to the title permutations further back. Ugo Ugochukwu crossed the line fourth. He scored enough points alongside teammates Ernesto Rivera in eighth and Théophile Nael in ninth to secure the 2026 Teams’ Championship for Campos Racing.

The new street layout has demanded immense precision all weekend. Drivers face high risks, with F1 championship leader Kimi Antonelli confronting a major strategic lottery regarding potential stoppages. The historic venue, where Carlos Sainz recently debuted a retro helmet, ultimately rewarded absolute starting precision.

Jin Nakamura finished fifth, followed by Alessandro Giusti and Alex Powell. James Wharton claimed the final point in tenth position.

Ugochukwu now heads into the final race of the Formula 3 season exactly level on points with Freddie Slater. The pair will face a direct, winner-takes-all showdown to decide the drivers’ crown.
