Hanses returns to F3 with Carlin

Julian Hanses will switch to Carlin for his return to the European Formula 3 championship at the Red Bull Ring.

The German racer started the season with championship returnee ma-con, but was withdrawn from the Silverstone round in August and sat out the last two meetings at Misano and the Nurburgring.

Carlin has confirmed Hanses will race with the squad for the final two rounds of the championship.

“I’m pleased to be back in the championship with Carlin and look forward to getting back in the car after a little while away,” he said.

“I think the championship and the car is a great platform for drivers and a competitive field which is great for a driver.

“I’m excited to be joining Carlin because they have a great history in the sport.

“Looking ahead to the weekend, I know that the Red Bull Ring is in no way easy. I have driven the track already when I raced in Formula 4 and I am highly motivated to attack again.”

Hanses scored points in the opening round of the season with a ninth place finish at Pau, but hasn’t reached the top 10 since.

He’ll join Carlin regulars Jehan Daruvala, Sacha Fenestraz, Nikita Troitskiy, Ameya Vaidyanathan and Ferdinand Habsburg.
