Mick Schumacher completed a hat-trick of victories with a dominant performance in the final European Formula 3 race of the weekend at the Nurburgring.

After a safety-car-interrupted race two, Schumacher enjoyed a relatively quiet race to end the weekend. The Prema driver made a strong get away and didn’t have to look back once during the 25 lap affair.

He finished almost five seconds ahead of Robert Shwartzman to end a near-perfect weekend with his sixth win of the season to close the gap to Dan Ticktum in the championship standings. Hitech GP’s Alex Palou enjoyed a strong start to dive down the inside of Ticktum at the first corner, passing the Red Bull junior driver to snatch third. He spent the remainder of the race keeping the pressure on Shwartzman, waiting for the Prema driver to make a mistake before making a move. But Shwartzman didn’t put a foot wrong, giving Palou no opportunities to move up another position, and the Spaniard had to settle for third.

Behind them, Ticktum took fourth, retaining his championship lead but falling to just three points ahead of Schumacher in the points standings.

Marcus Armstrong took fifth ahead of Juri Vips, who took his first points finish of the weekend after disappointing races one and two.

Sacha Fenestraz finished as the best Carlin man in P7, with Ralf Aron, Enaam Ahmed, and Guanyu Zhou completing the top 10.
