Mick Schumacher continued his success with pole for the second European Formula 3 race of the weekend at the Nurburgring.

Having already taken his first victory of the weekend in the morning’s race, Schumacher topped the times in qualifying for races two and three with a lap time of 1m20.805s.

Schumacher set the pace early in the session ahead of team-mates Marcus Armstrong, Guanyu Zhou, Ralf Aron, and Robert Schwartzman.

Motopark drivers Dan Ticktum and Jonathan Aberdein quickly joined the battle at the sharp end of the field, with Ticktum taking provisional pole with a 1m21.792s lap.

Schumacher and Ticktum swapped times at the top of the order twice more before Schumacher put in the first sub 1m21s lap in the closing stages of the session.

Shwartzman finished second fastest, 0.087s off Schumacher’s pace, with Ticktum relegated to the second row of the grid in P3.

Armstrong took fourth ahead of Alex Palou and Aron, with Aberdein dropping back to seventh.

Sacha Fenestraz was the top Carlin driver, qualifying eighth, with Zhou and Juri Vips rounding out the top 10.
