Aron leads Prema 1-2 in Misano free practice

Ralf Aron led a Prema 1-2 in free practice ahead of the Misano weekend of the European Formula 3 championship.

Aron set a 1m28.719s lap in the second of the two practice sessions at the Italian track, putting himself just21  thousands of a second ahead of team-mate Marcus Armstrong.

Silverstone race winner Juri Vips ended the Prema train of cars when he put himself P3, ahead of Guanyu Zhou and Alex Palou.

Championship leader Dan Ticktum topped the first practice session, a 1m29.444s putting him just ahead of Enaam Ahmed at the top of the timings. But the Red Bull junior couldn’t repeat the feat in FP2. He briefly topped the times early in the session but was knocked down the order as others found improvements, eventually finishing ninth quickest ahead of Artem Petrov.

Mick Schumacher ran into trouble in the opening practice, coming to a stop on track early in the session. He was able to get going again, but couldn’t finish inside the top 10 in either free practice.

Fabio Scherer finished the morning sixth quickest ahead of Jehan Daruvala and Jonathan Aberdein.
