Pasini tops timesheets to take Moto2 pole

Mattia Pasini made it three in a row by taking pole position for tomorrow’s Moto2 race at Silverstone.

The Italian completed a hat trick of podiums with Pasini having blistering pace ever since the Summer break. Pasini will head up the grid tomorrow alongside Alex Marquez and Franco Morbidelli.

Takaaki Nakagami will head up row two, the Japanese rider making his first ride since being announced as an LCR Honda rider for 2018. Luca Marini will join him in fifth, whilst Dominique Aegerter will start from sixth place.

Luca Baldassarri will start from seventh place in front of Miguel Oliveria, who starts eighth. Tom Luthi will start ninth and will have a lot to do if he is to catch up with his championship rivals.

Simone Corsi suffered a crash in the session but was still able to finish in tenth. Joining Corsi on the fourth row will be Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Navarro.

The Moto2 race tomorrow gets underway at 14:00 BST.
