Tom Luthi was able to take advantage of drying conditions to end Friday’s practice sessions on top.
Rain started to fall during the second free practice for the MotoGP class riders. However, by the end of FP2 for the Moto2 riders, conditions had dried up. This gave the riders only a limited time to put in times that would beat what they set in FP1.
Luthi was able to beat his FP1 time, putting him top. Marcel Schrotter was second, impressing in front of his home crowd, with Miguel Oliveria third on a time set in FP1.

Championship leader Franco Morbidelli was fourth, with Francesco Bagnaia fifth. Takaaki Nakagami was sixth, following on from his podium at Assen. Sandro Cortese was seventh, improving on what has been a torrid season so far for the German.
Simone Corsi was eighth, with Dominique Aegerter ninth. Alex Marquez was tenth after crashing in FP1.
The Moto2 riders will return tomorrow for qualifying at 14:05 BST.
