More test days and more power are amongst the changes that will be introduced to Formula E next season.
The World Motorsport Council agreed on the changes yesterday, along with the provisional calendar for FE’s fourth season.
During races, drivers will have 10kW more power available. The limit of 180kW of power will allow drivers to push harder and could lead to longer race distances. It’s not known whether the power available in qualifying (currently 200kW) will be increased.
Another change to the race weekend will only affect three of the 11 rounds. During the double header events, there will only be one free practice on the second day.
There will also be additional running outside the race weekends.
Two additional test days will take place next year, one of which will be exclusively for rookies.
Teams will also have more filming days available. Six filming days will be permitted next season, though only three can take place on a permanent circuit.
