Envision Racing’s Formula E future has been tightened before the championship’s next technical reset after Jaguar agreed to extend its customer partnership into the GEN4 era.
The two teams have worked together since Season 9, with Formula E confirming the partnership has produced 58 podiums, 23 wins and 13 poles. Jaguar is also second in the current manufacturers’ standings on 283 points, 41 behind Porsche. The extension lands before Formula E’s Shanghai double-header, giving the announcement added championship context.
GEN4 call gives Envision a fixed route
The importance is timing. GEN4 arrives for 2026/27 with substantially higher performance: Formula E says the car will exceed 335kph, reach 0-100kph in around 1.8 seconds and produce up to 600kW in Attack Mode.
For Envision, that makes continuity more valuable than a branding line. Team principal Sylvain Filippi described the extension as “an important step”, while Jaguar TCS Racing team principal Ian James said Jaguar’s focus remains on supplying a “world-class powertrain”.
That matters in a championship where the smallest integration gains are likely to decide early GEN4 form. Envision avoids a supplier reset, Jaguar protects a proven data channel, and both enter the next rules cycle with a relationship already tested under pressure.
