Jean-Eric Vergne will start on pole position for the Berlin ePrix ahead of Renault e.Dams’ Sebastien Buemi.
After showing strong pace in practice, the former Toro Rosso F1 driver put a lap together good enough to take his first pole position of the season.
Buemi will be satisfied with second in qualifying as championship rival Lucas di Grassi will start tenth.
Daniel Abt was an impressive third ahead of Mahindra’s Bruno Senna.
Nick Heidfeld make a mistake on his lap in the Super Pole shootout at Turn 8 meaning the German could only manage fifth in qualifying.
Q1
Lucas di Grassi, Oliver Turvey, Stephane Sarrazin, Robin Frijns.
The first part of qualifying for the Berlin ePrix saw NEXTEV TCR’s Oliver Turvey lead the way as Formula E championship leader Lucas di Grassi struggled for speed and could only manage second in Q1.
Stephane Sarrazin was the final driver to complete a lap in Q1 but struggled with the balance of his Venturi car. He managed third fastest ahead of Robin Frijns.

Q2
Nicolas Prost, Jean-Eric Vergne, Daniel Abt, Sam Bird, Rene Rast.
Q2 for the Berlin ePrix consisted of many fast drivers looking to make it into the Super Pole shootout.
Nicolas Prost looked to be the man to top the timesheets after Q2 but the Frenchman made a mistake at the final corner, costing him top spot. This allowed home hero Daniel Abt to capitalise and momentarily take top spot before DS Virgin’s Jean-Eric Vergne took first place in Q2.

Q3
Nelson Piquet Jr, Simona de Silvestro, Nick Heidfeld, Mike Conway, Jerome d’Ambrosio.
None of the quintet managed to beat Vergne’s benchmark but Heidfeld in the Mahindra went close, only a tenth shy. Reigning world champion Nelson Piquet Jr. confirmed NEXTEV TCR’s improved form, setting the fifth fastest time in Q3.
Jerome d’Ambrosio was ninth fastest ahead of Simona de Silvestro in tenth.

Q4
Sebastien Buemi, Bruno Senna, Loic Duval, Ma Qing Hua.
The pressure was on Sebastien Buemi as title rival di Grassi was well down the order.
Buemi delivered a fantastic lap which put him three-tenths clear of pacesetter Vergne. Mahindra’s Bruno Senna was the surprise of the session, going second fastest and making it into the Super Pole shootout.
