NEXTEV encouraged by progress made in Buenos Aires

NEXTEV TCR boss Steven Lu says he is encouraged by the progress his outfit has made since the start of the season.

Despite only scoring two points in Buenos Aires, courtesy of Oliver Turvey’s ninth place finish,

Turvey made up several places from 11th on the grid, at the start due to the mayhem which went on further up the field. The Briton was unable to maintain in P8, where he ran during the early part of the race after overtaking teammate Nelson Piquet Jr.

Reigning Formula E champion Nelson Piquet Jr suffered a technical problem which meant he was unable to finish inside the points.

Lu said: “It was a good day for us. Qualifying was encouraging and we scored two points with Oliver’s result.

“Our cars are in better shape compared to the beginning of the season and we will work to improve on the problems we suffered with Nelson’s car. Now our focus is on the next race in Mexico where we want to continue the improvement in qualifying and reduce the gap to the faster teams.”

NEXTEV TCR currently languish bottom of the teams’ championship with a mere 14 points after four races.
