Team Aguri have announced Salvador Duran will race for the team after the departure of Nathaniel Berthon on Monday.
The Mexican returns to Aguri after racing for the team in nine of the 11 rounds in Formula E’s inaugural season.
Duran’s best result in 2014-15 came in Moscow, finishing a solid sixth position, eventually finishing 21st in the drivers’ championship.
The 30-year-old was due to race for the Trulli team this season but due to a variety of reasons, Duran was unable to do so.
He said: “This is a very ambitious team with some of the best engineering and technical knowledge in Formula E, and I look forward to being part of an already successful season.
“I’m particularly looking forward to my home race in Mexico in March.
“The atmosphere will be amazing and I can’t wait to put on a good show for all my compatriots.”
The series heads to Buenos Aires on February 6 for round four of this year’s championship.
