Current Formula E championship leader Lucas Di Grassi has said that he is eagerly looking forward to the Punta Del Este ePrix this weekend.
The Brazilian finished 2nd in Beijing and won the Putrajaya ePrix, and wants to carry on this form at the ePrix that he thinks of as his home race.
“As long as we don’t drive in Brazil, the race in Punta del Este is effectively my home race, which I’m eagerly looking forward to,” Di Grassi said.
“The enthusiasm of the South American fans is enormous – and together with this unique location it will certainly be a highlight.”
The Abt Schaeffler driver finished third in the first Punta del Este ePrix last year, while his teammate Daniel Abt only finished 15th.
“We want to win the race and fight for the title. This is only possible when we are perfectly prepared and one-hundred per cent focused on race day.”
Formula E returns to Punta del Este this Saturday for the third race of the season. Currently Di Grassi, Sebastien Buemi, and Sam Bird make up the top three in the drivers championship standings.
