Stephane Sarrazin in the Venturi car achieved his best ever result in Formula E at Putrajaya.
The Frenchman unexpectedly qualified in second position earlier on in the day but found himself at the back after running into unknown issues before the race start.
“I was really happy to be in Position 2 on the grid. It was fantastic, we were very quick on the track, and then so disappointed that the car had no power. We can’t have this kind of issue happen again with the cars,” Sarrazin said after the race.
“I had to begin the race in last position with no hope for a good outcome – but I knew I had to race like I always do – I never give up, and neither does the Venturi Team.”
Although it looked like it would be a race to forget for the Venturi driver after the start of the race, he was in a good position to take advantage of other people’s problems to finish in fourth place.
“It paid off because in the end I achieved my best result in Formula-E history with Position 4. Just unbelievable. It shows that we are a very competitive team.
“But being in Position 2 on the grid and not being able to move, that’s an awkward feeling.”
After finishing ninth in Beijing, this result puts Sarrazin in sixth place in the Drivers Championship with 14 points in total.
