Trulli Team Fails Scrutineering For Putrajaya ePrix

The Trulli team will miss out on a Formula E event for the second time this season after their car did not pass the scrutineering checks on Friday evening.

The news comes not too long after the announcement that team owner Jarno Trulli would be replacing Salvador Duran in the car, because of a breach of contract from Duran.

The team was given an extension past the original deadline of 2pm to have the car ready, but even this wasn’t enough. Motorsport.com mention that the team has also been fined $1000 per car for not being ready for the first deadline.

Team principal Lucio Cavuto was disappointed with missing out on another Formula E round. “Everyone in the team has been working incredibly hard and we were looking forward to showing our car on track. I’d like to extend a big thank you to the whole team who have believed in the project from the start and worked relentlessly on it.”

He also mentions that a lot of work has been put into the car and that the team is confident that they will be back to racing in Uruguay next month. He also thanks the governing bodies for extending the deadline to give them a chance to make the race this weekend.

“Not to be forgotten to be thanked is our incredible fans who have offered great support in big numbers and we are sorry not to be able to be in the race for you,” Cavuto adds.
