The newly re-formed Project Brabham told Motorsport.com that the team is considering joining the Formula E grid in the future.
While, the 2nd season of Formula E gets underway this weekend in Beijing, David Brabham, son of triple Formula One world champion Jack Brabham said: “At the moment, I can say that Formula E is a series I am very interested in”
In regards to when Brabham would be joining the grid, the Australian racer stated
“In the medium and long term, yes, we would like to be involved and the interest from our side is high, but in the short-term we need to get established first. We’ve definitely got an eye on it.”
The Brabham name has already had a major involvement in Formula E as the grandson of Formula One legend, Jack Brabham, Matty Brabham raced for Andretti Autosport in Malaysia and Uruguay with a best finish of 13th in Malaysia.

Project Brabham is heavily based on the previous Formula One team of a similar name, Brabham Grand Prix. Making their debut in 1962, Brabham won back to back world championships in 1966 and 1967 with founder Jack Brabham and Denny Hulme respectively
Despite finishing as runners up on numerous occasions, Brabham failed to win another constructors championship. However, Nelson Piquet piloted his 1981 and 1983 Brabham to championship glory.
They left Formula One after a pointless 1992 season but now with one Formula E team possibly going up for sale at the end of the year (according to Motorsport.com), we could well see the Brabham name back in single-seater racing for the first time since 1992.
