Formula E team Andretti has confirmed Robin Frijns will drive for the team in season two of the FIA Formula E series.
The Dutchman will partner Simona de Silvestro, who has only two races to her belt making it an inexperienced line-up.
Frijns has already driven the Formula E car on the final day of pre-season testing at Donington and will make his debut in Beijing on October 24.
“It is an honor to be part of the Andretti family and to drive for them in Formula E,” said Frijns. “It’s a new championship and a completely new challenge for me
“The way of driving and saving energy is going to be tough, but fun and I am really looking forward to the first race in Beijing in a few weeks time.”
Andretti have struggled during pre-season testing to get to grips with their new power train, however, when they reverted to their season one power train, they were back on the pace.
“We’re very excited to have Robin join the team,” said team boss Michael Andretti.
“He’s only done one test for us, but he did a really good job and he has a great attitude. We feel that with him and Simona [de Silvestro] we have a strong team put together and are ready for season two.”
