Rio Haryanto eased away at the front of the field to take this third GP2 win of the season ahead of Raffaele Marciello and Pierre Gasly.
The Indonesian driver picked up reversed-grid pole position thanks to penalties for Arthur Pic and Oliver Rowland on Saturday and took full advantage of this to take this third win of the season.
The top three of Haryanto, Marciello and Gasly remained untroubled for majority of the race however the main battles would come further down the field. Alexander Rossi was awarded a five-second time penalty for exceeding track limits whilst overtaking Alex Lynn at copse.
The battle for fifth position was one to watch until the final laps of the race, after making a slow start at the beginning of the race from 2nd to sixth on the opening lap, Nick Yelloly took an impressive fifth place after passing feature race winner Sirotkin and Alex Lynn in the closing laps. Alex Lynn managed to hang onto sixth. Oliver Rowland finished seventh and scored points on his maiden GP2 weekend.
Championship leader Stoffel Vandoorne was only ninth and failed to score points for the first time since Abu Dhabi last season. Vandoorne still has a mammoth 65 point lead over Alexander Rossi in the drivers’ championship.
