Nikola Tsolov has turned the Spielberg Formula 2 weekend into a title pressure point after winning the Austrian Feature Race for Campos Racing.
The Red Bull Junior took victory over 40 laps at the Red Bull Ring, beating Gabriele Mini by 3.993 seconds, with Oliver Goethe third for MP Motorsport. The official Formula 2 classification listed Tsolov’s winning time at 56:10.538, while the championship table now has Mini on 108 points and Tsolov on 106.
It follows John Bennett’s late Spielberg Sprint Race victory on Saturday, giving the Austrian support bill a sharp competitive edge before Formula 1’s main event.

Tsolov Converts Chaos Into Control
Tsolov made the decisive early move from third, clearing Alexander Dunne before passing Campos team-mate and polesitter Noel Leon at Turn 3. Formula 2’s race report noted that the Bulgarian later lost the effective lead during the middle phase, then reclaimed control as tyre strategy and traffic pulled the order apart.
The crucial swing came after Dunne ran wide late in the race, allowing Tsolov back through before a Virtual Safety Car and Mini-Goethe pressure fight gave him clean air. From there, he managed the gap and crossed the line for his fourth win of the season.
- Winner: Nikola Tsolov, Campos Racing
- Championship gap: Mini leads Tsolov by two points
- Teams’ table: Campos Racing lead MP Motorsport by 30 points
The result matters beyond the trophy. Mini still leaves Austria as championship leader, but Tsolov has stripped away almost all of the cushion before the grid moves on to Silverstone.
