Nikola Tsolov will arrive at Silverstone with the 2026 FIA Formula 2 title race compressed into a two-point fight after his Spielberg Feature Race win cut Gabriele Mini’s championship lead to almost nothing.
The Campos Racing driver won the Austrian Feature Race from third on the grid, beating Mini by 3.993 seconds as Oliver Goethe completed the podium for MP Motorsport. Formula 2’s official standings now list Mini on 108 points, Tsolov on 106 and Rafael Camara third on 82 before Round 7 at Silverstone.
Tsolov pressure follows F2 to Silverstone
The timing matters. Silverstone is not just another support-race stop on the British Grand Prix bill; it is the first race weekend after Tsolov turned Spielberg into a direct pressure point for Mini.
- F2 practice: Friday, 10:00 local time
- Qualifying: Friday, 14:55
- Sprint Race: Saturday, 13:45
- Feature Race: Sunday, 11:15
That schedule gives contenders little room to settle. Silverstone’s high-speed layout rewards confidence through Copse, Maggotts and Becketts, but the championship equation is now equally sharp: Mini has the lead, Tsolov has the momentum, and Camara needs a reset after losing ground in Austria.
For Formula 2, the British GP weekend has become an early stress test of title temperament. Tsolov does not need to dominate Silverstone to change the shape of the season. He only needs to keep Mini within reach.
