Chase Elliott and Ryan Blaney rescue stalled 23XI cars at Darlington

Christopher Bell took victory at the Cook Out Southern 500 as Chase Elliott and Ryan Blaney rescued stalled 23XI Racing competitors during a Darlington Raceway red flag.

A late rain stoppage left Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace stranded on pit road. Reddick informed his crew: “Voltage is fine but starters dead,” as the field prepared to resume. Rather than wait for a NASCAR recovery truck to restore their positions, competitors intervened.

Hendrick Warns Against Clutch Damage

Running sixth, Reddick received a bump-start from the Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet of Chase Elliott. The No. 45 team radio noted: “Officials are waiting for the truck and he’s sitting at the back of the line, so I’m not sure what the situation is…Oh the #9 [Elliott] is doing it. Well, thanks Chase.”

The Hendrick pit box reacted frantically to the impromptu assist. Fearing mechanical failure, Elliott was told: “Don’t push him, don’t f****** push him.” His clutch survived the heavy push, allowing him to continue.

Further back in tenth, Wallace faced the same dilemma before Ryan Blaney provided a similar push. The No. 23 team praised the effort over their radio, saying: “What a guy…that’s brotherly love right there,” as the engine fired.

Reddick recovered to finish third, ahead of Blaney in fourth, Wallace in eighth, and Elliott in 14th. Bell’s victory leaves him 12 points behind Denny Hamlin in the current championship standings.
