Marc Marquez claimed pole position for the MotoGP German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring on Saturday, leading an all-Ducati lockout of the front row alongside brother Alex Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio.
According to a fresh report from Crash.net, the factory Ducati rider took control of Q2 late in the session to seal his third pole of the 2026 campaign, with Alex Marquez’s Gresini Ducati just hundredths of a second adrift and VR46’s Di Giannantonio completing the front row. It continues Marquez’s imperious record at a circuit where, after topping Friday’s opening practice, he arrived as the outright favourite.
Marco Bezzecchi Taken To Medical Centre After Heavy Q2 Crash
Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi suffered a heavy highside at Turn 7 early in Q2 and was seen hobbling away holding his wrist before being taken to the circuit medical centre by ambulance, his arm placed in a sling. The Italian, still managing discomfort from his recent Assen crash, salvaged a place inside the top ten despite the incident, though his fitness for Saturday’s Sprint and Sunday’s race is now a doubt.
Pecco Bagnaia’s session went little smoother. Third in the championship standings heading into the weekend, he had to fight through Q1 before eventually lining up in the fourth row alongside Pedro Acosta, the sole KTM to reach Q2, and Yamaha’s Jack Miller. Franco Morbidelli headed row three but will drop three places on Sunday’s grid after being penalised for impeding Acosta during Friday practice.
Saturday’s 15-lap Sprint gets underway at the Sachsenring at 2pm BST, with new grid-spacing rules in use for the first time this season.
