Lando Norris Returns To MCL60 As McLaren Celebrate Title At Goodwood

Lando Norris will drive the McLaren MCL60 up the Goodwood hill to the front of Goodwood House on Saturday, 11 July, as the Festival of Speed celebrates Britain’s newest Formula 1 world champion.

According to a fresh update from Crash.net, Lando Norris and former Formula 1 race winner Gerhard Berger headline day three of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, with the reigning champion taking centre stage after sharing Friday’s limelight with MotoGP great Valentino Rossi.

McLaren confirmed Norris — only the 11th British world champion in the sport’s history — returns to the MCL60, the 2023 McLaren in which he racked up seven podiums, before a balcony moment in front of packed crowds at Goodwood House.

Senna, Hunt And Rossi: The Legends Framing Norris’s Goodwood Saturday

McLaren chief marketing officer Lou McEwen said the team “will be celebrating last year’s double Championship win on Saturday, when Lando drives the MCL60 to Goodwood House, a fantastic opportunity to look back at this very special moment for the team.”

Reserve driver Leonardo Fornaroli handles the MCL60 for the rest of the weekend, while Ayrton Senna’s MP4/8B makes its first public appearance since September 1993 and James Hunt’s title-winning M23 marks 50 years since his 1976 crown.

Norris arrives in Sussex fresh from a bruising British Grand Prix that sharpened McLaren’s upgrade debate, and the papaya celebration offers the champion a rare weekend away from the 2026 title fight before racing resumes at the Belgian Grand Prix.
