Apple TV will make the full 2026 Austrian Grand Prix weekend free for Formula 1 viewers in the United States, opening up every Red Bull Ring session from June 26-28 without a subscription.
The move covers practice, qualifying and the Grand Prix itself, giving U.S. fans a no-paywall route into one of the most recognisable weekends on the Formula 1 calendar.
It is a notable shift during Apple TV’s first season as Formula 1’s exclusive U.S. broadcast home. The Austrian round already carries a natural pull because of Red Bull’s home-track presence and the continued attention around Max Verstappen at Spielberg.
Austrian GP access gives Apple a bigger F1 test
The free weekend should give Apple a broader sample of casual and committed F1 viewers before the European summer run gathers pace. For fans who have not yet followed the series through the Apple TV app, the Austrian GP becomes a low-friction entry point.
MacRumors reports that Apple announced the full Austrian Grand Prix weekend would be streamed free in the U.S., with no subscription needed for the live sessions.
For Formula 1, that matters beyond one race. A free Verstappen-heavy Red Bull Ring weekend is a useful showcase for the broadcast product, especially as Apple tries to turn its new rights deal into regular viewing habits rather than a one-off subscription play.
