Horner breaks silence on F1 future at MotoGP Jerez
Former Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has made a high-profile return to the race track, appearing as a guest of Gresini Racing at Sunday’s MotoGP Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez. Speaking publicly for the first time since his departure from Red Bull in July 2025, Horner insists he is in “no rush” to return to F1.
While Horner praised MotoGP star Marc Marquez – he called him the “Verstappen of MotoGP” – speculation continues regarding his next move in F1.
Reports suggest that potential investment in Alpine recently fell through due to opposition from other F1 team principals.
F1 ‘Frankenstein’ crisis: FIA considers mid-season power cuts
As the F1 circus heads to Miami following a five-week hiatus, the wrangling around the new regs for 2026 continues. FIA officials and team bosses have held a series of emergency meetings to address the “fake” racing produced by the new 50/50 hybrid power units.
Some critics have called the current cars “Frankenstein” machines due to their struggle to balance electrical deployment with traditional internal combustion. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has hinted that the FIA may propose further tweaks to the power delivery, in addition to those already agreed.
This ongoing issue is around the cars running out of battery on long straights – a move that McLaren boss Zak Brown warns is set to be an ongoing problem.
Hocevar takes emotional maiden Cup win at Talladega
Carson Hocevar claimed his first-ever NASCAR Cup Series victory on Sunday in a chaotic Jack Link’s 500 at Talladega. The 23-year-old from Michigan held off Chris Buescher and Alex Bowman in what ended up being a three-lap shootout to secure Spire Motorsports’ first race win since 2019.
The race was defined by “The Big One” on lap 115, which included 26 cars, among them Joey Logano, Kyle Larson, and Brad Keselowski. New Zealander Shane van Gisbergen led for a big chunk of the race but saw his hopes ended by a late-lap crash, and eventually finished 20th.
Jos Verstappen escapes horror rally flip unharmed
Jos Verstappen and his co-driver Jasper Vermeulen were lucky to be uninjured after a horrific crash during the Rallye de Wallonie in Belgium. Their car struck a pole on a dusty right-hand corner, which sent it into a nasty spin before it came to rest upside down.
While the car sustained significant damage, both men walked away relatively unharmed. Verstappen later explained that gravel on the road caused the rear of the car to twitch, leading to the crash that ended their race prematurely.
Vettel smashes London Marathon milestone
F1 legend and former world champion Sebastian Vettel made headlines over the weekend on a circuit that wasn’t a race track. Competing in the London Marathon, the four-time champion broke through the magical three-hour barrier, proving his fitness remains at an elite level despite his retirement from F1 racing.
