Liam Lawson recently reflected on how time moves fast, while also speaking about new regulations having posed a unique challenge for them all as they continue to work together as a team and on his bond with new teammate Arvid Lindblad.

The Briton rookie began his karting career at 13 and later joined the  Red Bull Junior Team. Before being picked by Racing Bulls, he competed in F2, ending up 6th in driver’s standings. Ahead of signing in with the team for this year, he made practice appearances last season at Silverstone, Mexico City, and Abu Dhabi, driving for Red Bull.

He eventually replaced Isack Hadjar, who was promoted to Red Bull Racing, after Yuki Tsunoda’s exit.

Lawson on his bond with Lindblad

In a recent conversation, Lawson reflected on the time passing quickly, sharing an instance about being at home and seeing some high school friends, which he claimed he hadn’t met for many years. He regarded it as “insane” that he never got the time in 9 years to meet them.

Sharing his outlook on working with the team under new regulations, he added, “So yeah, obviously things move very quickly, and coming into this year with these new regulations, a lot is on us working together, trying to communicate well and deliver what we need to the team to build on these regulations.”

He further shared how his bond is going with Lindblad and appreciated his performance in his first year. “And I think so far, honestly, it’s been pretty seamless and smooth, and it’s gone really, really well. I think Arvid’s done a good job coming in in year one to be able to do that,” he added.

Lindblad reflects on his performance so far

Lindblad, the 18-year-old driver, shared that his main goal after entering F1 was to focus on himself, as he wasn’t very well-versed with the old ground-effect cars. And this new regs have made him familiar with cars that are way different than what he was used to.

Given the tweaking in regulations, he revealed that he didn’t had much expectations but was only focused on giving the best he could. Impressively, in his debut race, he showcased he has what it takes to be an F1 driver, as he went wheel-to-wheel against world champs, Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton.

Moreover, he also gave Max Verstappen a hard-time in overtaking. His performance was lauded across the fandom and paddock.

Sharing the review of his last three races performance, he added, “I’ve been really happy with how the first couple of races have gone. It’s definitely been better than I could have hoped for. I think especially Melbourne, and even Japan to an extent, were quite big confidence boosters.”

Currently, Lindblad stands 11th in the driver standings with 4 points, whereas Lawson is in 10th place with 10 points.
