Jorge Lorenzo takes long awaited victory at Mugello

Jorge Lorenzo took a long-awaited victory on the Ducati at Mugello, his first since his final win on the Yamaha in 2016.

Lorenzo rolled back the years and completed a storming ride that saw him ride off into the distance, beating out teammate Andrea Dovizioso who finished in second.

The pair were helped by Marc Marquez crashing out of second place, remounting but not able to get into the points. This opens up the championship yet again, with Marquez’s championship lead shattered.
