Francesco Bagnaia has taken victory in today’s Moto2 race at Le Mans, making it three wins from five races so far this season.
The Italian was simply unstoppable in the race, taking a big step towards a big Championship charge for the Moto2 title.
Alex Marquez was the closest contender to Bagnaia in the race, but was unable to beat out the Italian for the win.
Joan Mir, the 2017 Moto3 World Champion, took third to take his first podium in the intermediate class.
There was drama at the start, after Xavi Vierge, who qualified second, had to start from the back of the grid. The Spaniard would fight through the field, taking fourth place. Mattia Pasini was fifth, with Brad Binder sixth.
Marcel Schrotter was seventh, with Sam Lowes eighth and Iker Lecouna ninth. Fabio Quartararo was tenth at his home GP.
The Moto2 riders will return in two weeks time at Mugello for the Italian GP.
