Mattia Pasini has taken victory in Moto2 in Argentina, giving him a five point lead in the World Championship going into Austin.
The Italian took victory in the support class race, just beating out Xavi Vierge to take a hard-fought win.
Vierge started from pole, and looked to turn his starting spot into a win. Vierge was on Pasini’s tail until the final corner, but wasn’t able to pass the Italian and would have to settle for second place.
Miguel Oliveria was third, with his KTM teammate Brad Binder crashing out of the race.
Lorenzo Baldassarri was fourth, with Alex Marquez fifth and Remy Gardner sixth. Joan Mir was seventh whilst Dominique Aegerter eighth.
Francesco Bagnaia crossed the line ninth with Marcel Schrotter crossing the line in tenth place.
The Moto2 championship will return in two weeks time in Austin, Texas. The Circuit of the Americas will play host to the next round.
