Joan Mir took a hard thought victory at Aragon, practically wrapping his championship up as the championship moves on to the Asian rounds.
Mir took victory as his championship rival Romano Fenati struggled. The Italian could only finish down in tenth, meaning that Mir has a lead of over 80 points with four rounds remaining.
Fabio di Giannantonio narrowly missed out on victory thanks to Mir’s clever tactics going into the final corner. The Italian was denied his debut Moto3 victory, and will have to settle for second. Enea Bastianini took the final podium spot, finishing third.
Jorge Martin was fourth, with Aron Canet fifth. John McPhee rode hard to end the race in sixth place, in front of Marcos Ramirez and wildcard Dennis Foggia.
Phillip Oettl was ninth, in front of Romano Fenati. Andrea Migno was eleventh, with Juanfran Guevara twelfth.
With four rounds remaining, the championship looks to be going to Joan Mir. Mir and the rest of the field will return in two weeks time, as the championship heads to Japan and Motegi for the Japanese GP.
