Sebastian Vettel set the fastest time in final practice for the Canadian Grand Prix as Ferrari looks favourites to take pole position at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
Vettel ended final practice 0.292s clear of team-mate Kimi Raikkonen, who topped second practice yesterday afternoon.
Five-time Canadian GP winner Lewis Hamilton ended up third fastest, 0.354s off Vettel’s benchmark and losing nearly all of that time in the final sector which mainly consists of the long back straight and final chicane.
Unlike yesterday, proceedings were uninterrupted and the session progressed without any drama.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen impressed on his way to fourth, splitting the Mercedes duo. Verstappen was only 0.393s off the pace, at a circuit which has not historically suited the Red Bull.
Valtteri Bottas was fifth fastest ahead of the Nico Hulkenberg, who continued to impress in the Renault.
Felipe Massa, Daniel Ricciardo, Esteban Ocon and Carlos Sainz rounded out the top ten positions.
Fernando Alonso was 12th fastest, just outside the top ten spots, while home hero Lance Stroll was down in 18th, 0.9s off the pace of team-mate Massa.
