Sauber has confirmed Pascal Wehrlein has been deemed fit to race in next weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix.
Wehrlein was involved in a nasty collision during the latter stages of last weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix, where he was tipped over onto his side by McLaren’s Jenson Button at Portier.
The German left the Monaco circuit with no concerns regarding his health but was required to undergo further tests due to fears that injuries sustained back in January could have been aggravated further.

The German missed the first two races of this season after picking up a back injury sustained in January’s Race of Champions event in Miami where he hit fellow driver Felipe Massa, which resulted in his car rolling over into the barriers.
GP2, now Formula 2, runner-up Antonio Giovinazzi deputised for Wehrlein in Australia and China, but will not be needed for next weekend’s trip to Montreal.
