Mehri hints at Formula E drive in season four

Former Manor Formula 1 driver Roberto Mehri has hinted that he will be competing in the upcoming fourth season of the Formula E Championship.

While being interviewed on Spanish radio station COPE, the Spaniard revealed that he would be preparing for the new season ‘from the first day in September, ‘curious’ to know how different the electric cars are to drive compared to a standard single seater.

He stopped short though of revealing a team he would drive for though, with full details on next season still sketchy.

The Spaniard drove 13 grand prix with Manor in 2015 after winning the Formula 3 Euroseries in 2011. Later in the season he shared the seat with American Alexander Rossi and has since driven for the Manor team in the World Endurance Championship.

Earlier this year he also made a surprise return to Formula 2, testing for Campos in the newly rebranded GP2 series. He has missed out on a seat for the season however, with Stefano Coletti and Ralph Boschung driving in Bahrain.
