2016 GP2 End-Of-Season awards

The 2016 GP2 season turned out to be one of the most exciting and closely fought championships the sport has ever seen.

In a year that witnessed ten different drivers win a race, 18 drivers stand on the podium and 22 drivers score a point, Pierre Gasly was victorious with five pole positions, four victories and 219 points. He beat his Prema Racing teammate Antonio Giovinazzi to the title by just eight points.

Some truly crazy races took pace in 2016, from Artem Markelov winning his maiden GP2 race in Monaco in exceptional circumstances to a wild Austrian feature race which saw Campos Racing take their second career 1-2 finish in treacherous and changeable conditions.

In Germany we were treated to two incredible races which had huge implications on the championship and really established the true title contenders. While Abu Dhabi may have been a bit of an anti-climax, there can be few complaints about this incredible season of racing.

From the best driver to the best race, we announce our choices for the victors of our end of season awards for the 2016 GP2 season.
