ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport’s Lucas di Grassi says that a fifth-place finish at the inaugural Marrakesh ePrix was the best result he could have claimed at the track.
After a difficult qualifying which saw him start 12th on the grid, he made a series of interesting overtakes to move into the points and into the top five.
“Fifth place was the maximum today,” di Grassi said.
“I fought throughout the entire race to overtake the cars in front of me. For today I’m satisfied with 10 points.”
Despite two top-five finishes in the first two races, di Grassi says that he and the team will be studying how they can improve for the third round of the season in Buenos Aires in February.
“However, we’ll use the short winter break to analysis(sic) everything exactly so we can strike back in Buenos Aires,” added di Grassi.
“The situation isn’t new: last season we improved constantly. We’ll pool all our resources to do the same again.”
The Brazilian sits in second place in the Drivers’ Championship after two races on 28 points, 22 behind Renault e.dams’ championship leader Sebastien Buemi.
