In a race that saw two red flags, five safety cars and some of the most treacherous conditions ever driven in at Interlagos, Lewis Hamilton finally broke his Brazilian GP duck and has now set his sights on teammate and title leader Nico Rosberg with just one race remaining.
Hamilton led the chaotic race from start to finish despite the constant disruptions and Rosberg seemed to have no answer to the pace of the three-time world champion.
Speaking on the podium Hamilton claimed it was, in fact, one of the easier victories of his F1 career, insisting he made no mistakes.
“For me, I was generally just chilling up front when it rains it’s usually a good day for me. It was tricky for everyone, definitely opportunities for aquaplaning which everyone did.
“It was probably one of the easier [victories], it was a very easy race generally, usually in the rain here it’s the hardest but honestly I didn’t have any spins, didn’t have any moments.
“It was pretty straight forward, Silverstone 2008 (another washout which Hamilton won) was way harder than this!”

With the season finale in Abu Dhabi looming in two weeks time, Hamilton sits 12 points behind Rosberg in the hunt for a fourth world championship.
Talking about his performances, Hamilton added: “I’m hunting, I’m hunting, all I can do is do what I’m doing right now.
“The team is giving me a great car, finally the reliability has been really good, the results are showing that. I’ll give it everything I’ve got, Abu Dhabi is generally a good track for me.”
