The third season of the FIA Formula E Championship will roar into life on October 9, and consequently a cloud of questions will start to be answered.
This season will mark the second season of powertrain development, and a chance for all teams to close in on the reigning Teams’ Champions Renault e.dams and Drivers’ Champion Sebastien Buemi.
The French team will start the season as favourites after their supreme pace throughout testing. However new team Techeetah (previously Team Aguri) are also running the Renault powertrain this season, and after impressing during testing could be the dark horses in the title chase.
Jaguar Racing are the other new team on the grid, and with their choice of Adam Carroll and Mitch Evans being rookies to the series, they face a steep learning curve if they want to compete with the established front-runners.
Amongst the teams expected to stay at the front of the pack are ABT Schaeffler, who recently received a pledge for full manufacture support from Audi starting from season four.
Their lead driver Lucas Di Grassi finished third in season one and second last season, and the German will be desperate to go one better on his third attempt.
Can Buemi retain his crown or will one of the other 19 drivers take home the Drivers’ Championship this year? Cast your vote:
