Formula E Season Three Preview: Venturi

Formula E Season Three Preview: Venturi

Venturi enters its third season of Formula E with high hopes of taking their first race victory in the series.

The team and their drivers Stephane Sarrazin and Nick Heidfeld struggled in its first season, finishing in ninth in the Teams’ Championship only ahead of the underfunded Trulli team.

However, Sarrazin improved drastically in the second season and his uber-consistency leapfrogged the team into sixth position in the Teams’ Championship. The Frenchman was the only driver to score points in every race of the season.

Jacques Villeneuve drove alongside him for the first three races but struggled to perform and he exited the team and the series after the Punta del Este ePrix. He was replaced by Mike Conway, who made an instant impact in Argentina when he got into Super Pole.

He failed to deliver any big results after his impressive debut qualifying, with just seven points to his name, Venturi decided not to renew the Brit’s contract for Season Three.

Surprisingly. Maro Engel has been brought in to replace him, the highly successful GT Racer will be one of five rookies this season and will have a tough task beating his vastly experienced teammate Stephane Sarrazin.

Find out how Venturi have done during testing, more information on their driver line-up and how we predict they will do this season:
