Jorge Lorenzo recovered from a couple of bad weekends to take pole position for tomorrow’s San Marino Grand Prix.
The Yamaha rider set a new fastest lap to end the session on top, becoming the first rider to set a 1:31 lap time. Lorenzo will be hoping to do well in tomorrow’s race, as he attempts to salvage something from this season.
Home-crowd favourite Valentino Rossi was second, with the Italian again showing his strength around Misano. Maverick Vinales, fresh from his win last time out, will start from third on the grid tomorrow.

Marc Marquez was unable to force his way onto the front row, with the Spaniard starting from fourth on the grid. Joining Marquez on row two will be the Ducati pairing of Michele Pirro, who is replacing the injured Andrea Iannone this weekend, and Andrea Dovizioso.
Cal Crutchlow was the top independent in seventh. Crutchlow will be disappointed, however, after a few good outings in the past few weeks. Behind Crutchlow is Dani Pedrosa, with Aleix Espargaro and Pol Espargaro completing the top ten.
Hector Barbera and Alvaro Bautista were the final Q2 entrants, with the pair starting eleventh and tenth.
The MotoGP race gets underway tomorrow at 13:00 BST. You can follow all the action here at Read Motorsport.
