In Friday’s final free practice session for the MotoGP class, Pol Espargaro surprisingly ended the day on top.
The Spaniard set a time late on that was unmatchable by the rest of the field. Dani Pedrosa was a surprise second, whilst Andrea Dovizioso was third. This means the top three finishers have all not won a race this year.
Jorge Lorenzo was fourth, whilst Marc Marquez was fifth. Valentino Rossi was just behind the Spanish duo in sixth.
Cal Crutchlow was seventh, but will disappointed after an early crash in the session. Scott Redding was eighth whilst Hector Barbera was ninth. Last weekend’s winner, Maverick Vinales was down in tenth, and will be looking to improve come tomorrow.
It was another solid afternoon for Alex Lowes, with Bradley Smith’s stand in ending the day in seventeenth place.
MotoGP FP3 gets underway tomorrow at 08:55 BST, with Q2 getting underway at 13:35 BST.
