British GP Preview: Has Marquez wrapped it up?

After a fantastic weekend for British motorsport last time out in Brno, the MotoGP world championship returns to Silverstone for the British GP.

Cal Crutchlow will be hoping to build on his first victory in the premier class this weekend. The Briton has had a few bad races at his home circuit, but does have previous success here in the World Superbike Championship.

Marc Marquez will be looking to put even more distance between him and his championship rivals at a circuit that the Spaniard has done well at in the past. He disappointingly crashed out here last year but won at the Northamptonshire circuit in 2014.

Danilo Petrucci had a great time at Silverstone last year, picking up his first and only MotoGP podium so far. If the weather conditions are wet, then you can never discount the Italian and his teammate Scott Redding, who always does well at Silverstone.

The Yamaha pair of Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo need a result this weekend. The long-time rivals have struggled for some time now, and some would argue that the championship is out of their grasp for this year.
